One of the most modern methods of strengthening structures, be it a bridge, commercial property or car park is to use carbon fibre. It comes in many forms including plates and wrap.

Traditionally wrap is used to strengthen columns or walls whilst plates are used on beams. The carbon fibre is the same technology used in formula one racecar engineering and has tremendous flexural strength. This, combined with its light weight, means huge increases in capacity can be made with little increased dead load on the structure.
